Greenville Technical College has partnered with Greenville County EMS to provide training in Emergency Healthcare Delivery for patients who become unexpectedly ill or injured. The course covers the role and competencies of the prehospital care providers, while also addressing the psychological, social, behavioral, economic, and environmental factors that affect individual and community health. Upon successful completion, eligible students will take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) cognitive exam to become certified as South Carolina EMTs. All Greenville County EMT students must complete four 12-hour ride times with Greenville County EMS. These ride times will be scheduled through the course instructor or clinical coordinator and must occur during the 4th and 11th weeks of class. Students are responsible for the cost of a background check, drug screening, immunizations, physical exam, and the required entrance exam. Students must also purchase pants, boots, and a belt.

Prerequisite: “ Fisdap EMT Entrance Exam with Enhanced Security.”
